Final sports programm – a world-class sports festival

The World Games 2029 Karlsruhe – a world-class sports festival

A major milestone on the road to The World Games 2029 Karlsruhe has been reached: the final sports programme is confirmed. With 62 disciplines, the sporting world can look forward to the most wide-ranging edition of The World Games to date – from fast-paced inline speed skating and spectacular beach handball to finswimming, the fastest swimming discipline. The programme is complemented by five para disciplines.

With around 4,000 athletes from more than 100 countries, The World Games 2029 Karlrsruhe (TWG2029) will be one of the world’s biggest sporting events of 2029. TWG2029 stands for more than outstanding athletic performances: excellence in sport, cultural exchange and international togetherness. Planning is also guided by a sustainable approach, making use of existing sports venues, complemented by temporary competition sites in central locations.

With a total of 62 disciplines, the sports programme is more varied than ever before in the history of The World Games. The already confirmed programme is expanded by five para disciplines and complemented by five additional invitation disciplines. For example, indoor cycling is set to make a comeback – this fascinating sport has featured at The World Games only once before: in Karlsruhe in 1989. There’s something for every sports fan.
