Waterski & Wakeboard
Wakeboarding and water skiing are water sports in which an athlete stands on a wakeboard (a board with foot straps) or water skis (one or two skis) and is pulled by a rope from a boat or via a cable running along the water’s surface. Both are particularly appealing to spectators, as the athletes perform spectacular tricks and jumps, combining artistry with power.
In Cable Wakeboard riders are pulled by a specially set-up cable, encountering structures on the course – e.g. ramps, rails and ‘A-frames’ – to expand creativity of the runs. Athletes aim to perform a smooth-flowing routine with a wide variety of tricks and jumps.
