Your profile
  • A degree in Business Informatics, IT Management, Digital Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • 5+ years of professional experience in technology or IT project management, ideally in the context of large multi-sport events
  • Experience in implementing and supporting complex software solutions, IT related project management or event management
  • Analytical thinking, strong organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in using modern IT and project management tools
  • Commercial mindset identifying possible partners in the IT and technology sector helping to secure the LOC deals
  • Experience in leading teams and managing complex processes
  • Excellent written and spoken English; German as a strong plus
  • High level of commitment, resilience, and flexibility, particularly during the event phase

Your tasks
  • Establish, develop, and lead the Technology function, overseeing the planning and delivery of all technology services, systems, infrastructure, and processes required for The World Games 2029.
  • Build and lead a team of employees and contractors responsible for planning and delivering technology services.
  • Manage the Technology budget and ensure the effective allocation of resources.
  • Represent the Technology function in internal and external meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Plan and manage integrated digital services and technology infrastructure across all competition and non-competition venues.
  • Coordinate telecommunications and other technology service providers to ensure the seamless delivery of connectivity, voice, internet, and critical event technology services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for timing, scoring, and results services and coordinate the respective service partner.
  • Identify, procure, implement, and operate the information systems required for both the organizing committee and the Games.
  • Manage technology service delivery to ensure reliable support and operational readiness across all functional areas and venues.
  • Establish and operate the Technology Operations Centre (TOC) and coordinate external technology partners during event delivery.
  • Establish a cybersecurity framework across the organization, including standards, risk mitigation measures, and incident response processes.
  • Leverage AI and other emerging technologies to support the successful delivery of the Games, promote sustainable technology solutions, and contribute to a positive digital legacy.
