Your profile
- A degree in event management, sports management, business administration, or a comparable qualification
- Several years’ professional experience in a managerial role within the context of major events
- Experience in building and leading teams and in managing complex organisational structures
- Experience in budget management, public procurement law and tendering processes
- Strong strategic skills, organisational ability and communication skills
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
- A strong hands-on approach, resilience and the ability to make decisions in dynamic situations
- Excellent written and spoken German and English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Willingness to work flexible hours, particularly during the event phase
Stakeholders
Your tasks
Reporting to the COO and working closely with the Sport & Venue Director, you will be responsible for the following areas:
- Strategic and operational management of the Event Services department, covering transport, logistics, security, medical services, accreditation, catering and ticketing
- Building and leading teams, managing collaboration and ensuring efficient processes
- Development and refinement of concepts for the Event Services division
- Commissioning and coordination of external service providers for the Event Services division
- Close collaboration with event venues, authorities and local partner organisations
- Responsibility for budget planning, quality standards and operational implementation during the event phase
- Primary cross-functional point of contact in internal steering group meetings and with stakeholders

Your profile

- Several years’ experience in organising sporting competitions, ideally in an international setting or at multi-sport events
- High level of expertise in dealing with sports federations and sport-specific requirements
- Experience in leading teams and managing complex processes
- Organisational skills, a confident manner and strong communication skills
- Very good written and spoken German and English; knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
- High level of commitment, resilience and flexibility, particularly during the event phase
Your tasks
Under the leadership of the Sport & Venue Director, you will take responsibility for the Sport division and help shape its strategic and operational direction. This includes, in particular:
- Establishing, managing and providing specialist leadership for the Sport division (covering more than 30 sports) and its sub-units: Competition Management, Doping Control and Sport Presentation
- Responsibility for budget planning within the Sport division
- Overseeing the sporting preparation of all disciplines in close cooperation with national and international federations
- Coordinating sport-specific requirements for venues, procedures, equipment and safety standards
- Ensuring that competitions are conducted professionally and in accordance with the rules
- Overseeing the Sports Presentation concept (e.g. show elements, staging, presentation, entrance and award ceremony procedures) whilst ensuring a high-quality event experience
- Cross-functional coordination and ensuring smooth collaboration with the Timing Scoring & Results, Broadcast, Venues, Event Services, Communications and Volunteers departments
